Massage therapy is a hands-on treatment of the bodies soft tissue and
joints. The soft tissues include muscle, skin, tendons and associated
fascia, ligaments and joint capsules.
The therapeutic use of massage can affect all the systems of the body,
in particular the muscular, circulatory and lymphatic (immune) system.
What
are the benefits of massage?

At Warby Street Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy and Spinal injury Centre we
offer many varieties of massage:
- Swedish Massage
“Relaxation massage” : used to stimulate circulation, ease muscle
tension, improve flexibility and promote relaxation.
- Remedial Massage:
Help ease muscle pain and discomfort; and aides in relaxation of
muscles to improve joint mobility. Often used for such conditions as
arthritis, frozen shoulder, muscular cramps, whiplash. sports and
dancing injuries.
- Myofascial
Release: releasing tension in the fascia, by using long,
stretching techniques. Myofascial Release is used to treat neck and
back pain, headaches and reoccurring sports injuries.
- Trigger Point
Therapy: whilst apply pressure to concentrated areas “trigger
points", it aides in helping to break the cycle of spasm and pain.
- Lymphatic
Drainage: stimulates the lymphatic vessels that cany substances
vital to the defence ofthe body, and removes waste products. Also helps
reduce swelling for such conditions as : Total Knee replacements,
Lymphoeclema or Breast Cancer care.
